Jersey Volunteers to Deliver Retired Ambulances to Ukraine
Two retired Jersey ambulances will be driven to Ukraine in mid-March by volunteers Bob De La Haye, 73, and John Howl, 74, to support medical efforts.
Donated by the States of Jersey, the ambulances will be filled with essential supplies, including warm clothing, generators, and medical items. De La Haye, who previously delivered an ambulance in November, described the experience as “hugely successful and moving.”
The pair will join charity Pick-Ups For Peace in Poland before traveling in a convoy of up to 24 vehicles to Ukraine, escorted by police from the border.
