UK Group Scoffs Takes Over Channel Island Costa Coffees in £300,000 Investment Plan

A UK-based hospitality operator has taken control of the Costa Coffee franchise across the Channel Islands, with plans to inject more than £300,000 into refurbishing local stores.

Scoffs Group, which runs over 110 Costa Coffee branches across the UK, has acquired the four Channel Island outlets previously managed by Sandpiper CI. The takeover covers stores in Jersey’s Queen Street and St Aubin’s village, as well as Guernsey’s Lower Pollett and the Bridge.

Scoffs Group chief executive Antony Tagliamonti said the investment would bring the cafés up to Costa Coffee’s latest standards, featuring upgraded technology and refreshed interiors.

“As part of this acquisition, we’re investing over £300,000 to enhance our stores with the latest design and digital innovations, ensuring customers enjoy the very best Costa Coffee experience,” Mr Tagliamonti said.

The company added that it aims to build on the “strong foundations” laid by Sandpiper CI and hinted at further growth, noting it would “continue to explore potential sites” across the islands.
