Two high-speed ferries revealed for Jersey

A ferry company has announced the launch of two high-speed vessels to serve Jersey from next spring.

The Danish operator DFDS has introduced the Levante Jet and Tarifa Jet, capable of carrying approximately 700 passengers and over 150 cars each. These ferries will connect Jersey with St Malo in France and Poole in England.

During the peak season, the service will operate 11 weekly trips between Jersey and St Malo, and five weekly trips on the Jersey-Poole route.

Modern Vessels

DFDS highlighted the vessels’ relatively recent construction, with the Levante Jet built in 2015 and the Tarifa Jet in 1997, describing them as "young" and state-of-the-art.

Chris Parker, DFDS’s Jersey route director, said:"We look forward to introducing these two high-speed crafts to Jersey. They are state-of-the-art vessels that will enhance the travel experience but also play a crucial role in supporting local tourism."

The company confirmed that timetables for the new routes will be published by Friday.
