Two men have gone on trial accused of a violent assault outside the Oxford pub during a bingo night in October 2023.
Sean Downey (22) and Kenneth Skinner (24) allegedly punched a man to the ground and kicked him while unconscious. The victim, who had been helping at the pub, suffered a head injury and a broken leg.
The court heard that Skinner was ejected from the pub over a drinks payment issue and later returned with Downey. Prosecutors claim they were "looking for a fight."
Both men deny grave and criminal assault. Skinner argues self-defence, while Downey admits common assault but denies the more serious charge.
The trial is expected to last several days.
