Bin Sparks Safety Warning After Suspected BBQ Fire


A fire broke out in a waterfront bin early Monday morning, with officials suspecting a discarded disposable barbecue as the cause.


Jersey Fire and Rescue Service responded to the incident at 03:20, finding a large wheelie bin near La Fregate café engulfed in flames. The intense heat melted the bin, which was later cleared away that afternoon.


Following the fire, emergency services urged the public to ensure disposable barbecues are fully cooled before disposal to prevent similar incidents.
