Stena Vinga Makes Final Jersey Sailing Ahead of New Name and Ownership

The Stena Vinga has completed its final service to Jersey as the ferry prepares for a new chapter under the ownership of DFDS, including a fresh name and updated company branding.
DFDS, which purchased the passenger and freight vessel from Stena Line in May, is now having the ship repainted in its corporate colours.
The ferry has operated on the Jersey to Portsmouth route since DFDS took over the island's ferry contract in March 2025.
Measuring 125 metres in length, the vessel can accommodate up to 400 passengers and 200 cars, alongside a freight capacity of 1,500 lane metres.
Built in 2005, the ship offers a range of passenger facilities, including 40 cabins, a restaurant, duty-free shop, cinema and recliner lounge.
During its absence, the vessel will be temporarily replaced on the Portsmouth route by the relief ferry Cote D'Albatre.
The Stena Vinga is expected to return to service later this month under its new name, Corbiere Seaways. The name was selected following a public vote.
As part of the refurbishment process, the vessel will also be transferred to the UK ship registry and will begin sailing under the British Red Ensign.
The changes mark a new stage for the ferry as DFDS continues its operations serving Jersey and maintaining connections between the island and mainland UK.
