Singer IZI releases debut single after battling leukaemia

Island-born singer-songwriter Isabel Marsh, known as IZI, has released her debut pop single “BAD” after recovering from leukaemia.

Originally from Jersey, Marsh was diagnosed in 2020 and underwent intensive treatment that left her uncertain whether she’d ever sing again. “I tried to start singing again and completely lost everything I had before. I really thought it was over,” she said.

During recovery, she considered leaving music behind to pursue her interest in astronomy, but eventually rediscovered her passion while studying music production online. “Taking the pressure off singing helped me fall in love with it again,” she said.

Now 25 and living in Manchester, Marsh says her journey has taught her the value of patience and self-kindness. “Be kind to yourself like you would to a friend,” she said. “If we say we can do it, nothing can stop us.”
