Battle of Flowers Decorations Find New Home in Jersey Shopfronts

Floral creations from this year’s Battle of Flowers are being given a second life – brightening up shop windows across the island. Ahead of the festival, which took place on 8 and 9 August, 16 local businesses joined in the celebrations by showcasing floral displays in their windows.

Now, from Thursday until 12 September, decorations originally crafted for the colourful floats will continue spreading cheer, moving into even more shopfronts.

Float designer Louise Hartley-English described working on the displays as “an absolute joy.”

“I’ve loved every moment,” she said. “It’s given me the chance to meet people I’d never normally cross paths with, and to step into all the different workshops involved in the Battle. It’s been such a unique experience.”
