Lifeboat Crew Brings Drifting Yacht to Safety in Nighttime Operation

In the early hours of Friday morning, Jersey’s lifeboat volunteers launched a rescue mission to assist a stranded sailing vessel west of Corbiere.

The Jersey Lifeboat Association said the alert came in at 00:25, with reports of a yacht adrift roughly 8 nautical miles (14.8 km) offshore. The crew on board had run out of fuel, lost wind in their sails, and were running low on battery power, leaving them in the dark and unable to navigate.

Responding swiftly, the lifeboat team located the vessel and towed it back to St Helier, completing the operation by 04:30 BST. No injuries were reported.
