Runaway Buoy Recovered Near France

A French navigation buoy that drifted into Jersey waters has been safely recovered by the local coastguard.
The buoy, La Jument des Héaux, was first spotted near Portelet Common on 12 September, three days after it went missing from its original station.
Jersey Coastguard confirmed that their Marine Operations Team retrieved the buoy on Tuesday, taking advantage of favorable tides and weather conditions.
“We are now coordinating with our French maritime counterparts to ensure the buoy is returned safely,” a coastguard spokesperson said.
