Evening Closure for Emergency Repairs on Rouge Bouillon
Rouge Bouillon in St Helier will be temporarily closed to traffic on Thursday evening as emergency repair works are carried out, the Government of Jersey has confirmed.
The closure, scheduled from 6:30pm to 11:00pm, follows the discovery of a new surface depression on the road. According to the Infrastructure and Environment Department, the measure is being taken as a precaution to ensure public safety.
Authorities noted that the road has been closely monitored since a sinkhole was identified in 2024. Officials say they have acted swiftly after detecting the latest issue.
“The repair works are expected to be completed tonight,” a government spokesperson said.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes while the works are underway.
