RNLI announces changes to beach lifeguard patrols as summer season ends

Beachgoers in Jersey are being reminded to check lifeguard patrol times as the summer season comes to an end and services begin to change.

The RNLI said weekend-only lifeguard patrols would operate at Le Braye from 28 September to 18 October, with the same arrangements in place during the October half-term.

Visitors heading to the coast are being encouraged to choose lifeguarded beaches wherever possible and check sea conditions before entering the water.

Henry Saddler-Irvine, the RNLI’s regional lifeguard lead, thanked lifeguards and support teams for their work during what he described as a busy summer.

He said crews had demonstrated professionalism, resilience and teamwork while working in challenging conditions to help keep people safe along the coastline.

The RNLI is reminding beachgoers that patrol schedules vary as the season changes and advising visitors to check local lifeguard cover before heading into the sea.
