Jersey Water has issued an appeal after newly installed signs at Queen’s Valley reservoir were “ripped down and removed” within 24 hours.
The company is requesting that whoever took the signs return them as soon as possible. The signs, put up earlier this week, advised the public not to feed the wildlife at the reservoir to protect animal health and preserve the ecosystem.
Terry Gasnier, Facilities Manager at Jersey Water, expressed his disappointment over the incident. “It’s frustrating that the signs were taken so soon after installation,” he said. “Before we involve the police, we’re hoping for their prompt return.
Although visitors may mean well by feeding the wildlife, unfortunately, it often causes more harm than good.”
Anyone with information about the missing signs is encouraged to contact Jersey Water’s customer service team.
