Railway Walk Reopens After Months of Repairs Following Landslip

A section of the Railway Walk that was closed earlier this year after a landslip has now reopened following extensive repair work.
The incident occurred in February near the Jersey Water impounding pond at Mont Nicolle, when a large section of the footpath collapsed, forcing its closure for safety reasons.
Infrastructure and Environment said teams first carried out urgent work to stabilise the area and protect the public. This was followed by more substantial repairs to restore the path to its original width.
At the time, officials warned the closure could last several months, as engineers feared further collapse after heavy rainfall across the island.
With the work now complete, the popular walking route has reopened to islanders and visitors.
