Passengers will no longer be able to travel from Portsmouth to Jersey by ferry on Sundays following schedule changes by DFDS, the new operator of the island’s ferry service.
DFDS, which takes over the route on 28 March, has begun contacting affected customers to offer alternative sailings or full refunds. The company said the decision followed discussions with tourism leaders and freight operators to create a more reliable and efficient service.
The move has sparked backlash on social media, with some travelers calling it "disappointing" and "shockingly bad." DFDS responded that while schedule changes were not anticipated, adjustments were made to improve freight services and connections with St. Malo.
The company reassured customers that most sailing times remain unchanged, with only minor amendments, and thanked passengers for their understanding.
