A new office building could be constructed on the site of a commercial property that was destroyed after suffering severe damage during Storm Ciarán.

The former Pentagon Wholesale premises on Rue des Prés in St Saviour were demolished after the powerful storm struck Jersey in November 2023, leaving the building beyond repair.

A planning application has now been submitted seeking permission to redevelop the site with a new two-storey commercial building.

According to the application, the proposed development is designed to provide a modern, practical workspace while fitting in with the surrounding industrial area. The replacement building would also be energy-efficient and fully accessible.

The plans outline a contemporary industrial design, featuring a flat roof and dark-coloured cladding on the upper floor.

If approved, the ground floor would include office space, a meeting room, locker and changing facilities, and staff welfare areas. The first floor would provide additional office accommodation, along with a plant room and a dedicated data room.

Storm Ciarán caused widespread damage across Jersey in November 2023, bringing down trees and damaging homes and commercial properties across the Island.
