Kayaker and Paddleboarder Help Rescue Three off Jersey Coast

Three people were rescued from the sea off Jersey after getting into difficulty near Green Island Beach on Tuesday evening.

The group was spotted struggling about 100m (330ft) from shore. A kayaker and a paddleboarder paddled over to assist, helping them onto nearby rocks. Moments later, Jersey Fire and Rescue Service’s Inshore Rescue Boat brought them safely back to shore.

No injuries were reported. The fire service praised the “quick-thinking” actions of the two members of the public, describing the effort as “a great example of community spirit.”

In a reminder about coastal safety, the service noted that “the sea around Jersey can be unpredictable, with fast-changing tides and currents.”

Thanks were extended to the kayaker, paddleboarder, Jersey Coastguard, and the RNLI Jersey St Helier Lifeboat crew, all of whom attended the incident.
