A Freedom of Information request has revealed that only one person has been fined in the past five years for failing to clean up after their dog in Jersey.
The fine, issued in St Saviour in 2023, was the only penalty related to dog offences during that period, with no fines given for unlicensed dogs or those posing a threat to wildlife.
Despite several anti-dog fouling campaigns in recent years, enforcement remains minimal. In contrast, two fines amounting to £4,500 were issued for fly-tipping and other environmental offences over the same five-year period.
