Nude Dunes Owner Ordered to Stop Residential Use

The long-running Nude Dunes saga at La Pulente has taken a new turn. The Planning Department has issued an order for the former restaurant to cease being used as a home.

Owner Nadia Miller had previously sought to convert the site into self-catering accommodation, but her plans were rejected by the Planning Committee and upheld by Environment Minister Steve Luce.

Following claims that the property was being used as a family home, Planning launched an investigation in July. The government has now ordered that the site must not be used for residential purposes, giving two months for compliance from 7 August.

A second enforcement notice has been issued over a modular building and wooden fence erected without consent, which must also be removed within the same period.

Authorities said the residential conversion breaches the Bridging Island Plan by introducing housing outside the built-up area and encroaching on the Coastal Protection Zone.
