The government of Jersey has announced the installation of a new taxi rank and additional Blue Badge parking spaces in St Helier. These improvements aim to enhance accessibility and convenience for both residents and visitors.

The newly added taxi rank on the Esplanade is designed to better serve the public and the International Finance Centre. In addition, three new disabled parking bays will be introduced at Library Place, while two existing spaces will be removed from the current taxi rank in the same area, leaving one to meet ongoing demand.

To further improve transport and infrastructure in the area, additional cycle parking will be installed, and the unloading bay will be extended to facilitate deliveries more efficiently.

Minister for Infrastructure Constable Andy Jehan emphasised that these upgrades were part of a broader effort to make St Helier more accessible and better connected. “Increasing disabled parking, refining taxi rank locations, and enhancing cycling provisions will support both residents and visitors in navigating the town more easily,” he stated.

Jehan also highlighted that the new disabled spaces would be marked with blue paint to increase visibility and raise awareness of their availability.
