Families in Jersey have two more reasons to get outdoors this Easter, as a brand-new playground and a freshly refurbished one have officially opened in St Helier.

The Parish of St Helier announced the opening of a new play area at Parade Gardens, designed specifically for younger children aged six and under. Meanwhile, an older playground—recently closed for refurbishment—has also reopened and now caters to children aged seven and above.

Both sites have been thoughtfully designed with inclusivity in mind, ensuring that children of all ages and abilities can enjoy the facilities.

Constable Simon Crowcroft expressed his enthusiasm for the early opening, saying: "Whilst we have planned a formal opening of our new parks in early May, I am delighted that our new play spaces are available for children and young people to enjoy ahead of schedule and for the remainder of the Easter break."

The new and improved play spaces are part of the parish’s broader commitment to creating welcoming, accessible environments for local families.
