New Inter-Island Ferry En Route to Channel Islands

A high-speed catamaran set to operate a new passenger service between Jersey and Guernsey is on its way to the Channel Islands, with arrival expected this Saturday.

The vessel, San Pawl, which has a capacity of 316 passengers, was undergoing maintenance in Malta before being loaded onto the cargo ship Eemslift Hendrika on 10 May for transport north.

Eemslift Hendrika is scheduled to dock in St Peter Port on 17 May, delivering San Pawl ahead of the launch of a daily inter-island ferry route.

The new foot-passenger service, operated by Islands Unlimited, is set to begin on 30 May, providing a regular link between the two islands.
