Charities Across Channel Islands Receive £427,000 Boost from Lottery Fund
More than £427,000 has been awarded to charities and community projects across the Channel Islands to support mental and physical wellbeing.
The 2024 grants, ranging from £2,000 to £130,000, were distributed to initiatives encouraging physical activity and social connection.
In Guernsey, £191,000 was allocated through the Social Investment Fund, while organisations in Jersey received £236,000 via the Association of Jersey Charities and the Jersey Community Foundation.
Jon Taylor, head of the Channel Islands Lottery, said the funding aimed to help communities “thrive and grow despite often challenging times.”
Beneficiaries include St John Guernsey, which received £130,000 to fund management salaries, and the Guernsey Sports Commission, awarded £10,000 to launch an inclusive climbing project. Other grants went to the Alderney Rugby Club, Jersey Bowling Club, and Dementia Jersey to enhance facilities and community programmes.
