Moon artwork set to light up St Helier this November

Jersey is preparing for an out-of-this-world art experience as a spectacular six-metre illuminated Moon arrives at St Helier Methodist Centre next month.
Created by internationally renowned artist Luke Jerram, Museum of the Moon will give visitors the chance to get up close to a detailed representation of Earth's closest celestial neighbour.
The free exhibition, presented by ArtHouse Jersey as part of the Butterfield Public Art Series, will run from Sunday 15 to Sunday 29 November.

The installation features detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface, brought to life through lighting and a specially composed soundscape designed to offer visitors a fresh perspective on the Moon.
It follows the success of Jerram's Floating Earth, which attracted more than 30,000 people to Queen's Valley Reservoir when it came to Jersey in 2023.
Museum of the Moon has been exhibited around the world approximately 350 times in more than 40 countries. Previous locations have included Glastonbury Festival and the Commonwealth Games in Australia.
ArtHouse Jersey chief executive Tom Dingle said the large-scale installations had the power to capture the public's imagination and bring communities together.
He said the Moon exhibition continued the organisation's commitment to bringing ambitious international art projects to the Island while ensuring they remained accessible to everyone.
Mr Dingle added that the team was particularly looking forward to transforming St Helier Methodist Centre and welcoming people who might not usually visit an art exhibition.
