New Chair Appointed at Jersey Veterans’ Charity

A Jersey-based charity dedicated to providing holidays for injured military veterans has announced a new chairperson.

Adele Langlois has stepped into the leadership role at Holidays for Heroes Jersey, succeeding Richard Harwood, who completed a five-year term at the end of June.

The charity, established in 2008, offers respite breaks on the island to ex-service personnel who have been physically injured or are coping with mental health challenges as a result of their military service.

Langlois, who joined the board as a governor last year, expressed her enthusiasm for the new role. “I’d like to thank Richard for his leadership over the past five years, particularly during the challenges of the Covid pandemic,” she said. “He’ll be a tough act to follow, but I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

In addition to Langlois’s appointment, the charity has welcomed a new governor, John Pallot-Brown, who takes over from long-serving board member Maureen Devitt.

Looking ahead, the charity said it expects to welcome more than 250 veterans to Jersey for holidays this summer—a testament to its continued commitment to supporting those who’ve served. New Chair Appointed at Jersey Veterans’ Charity
