Man Charged After Violent Town Centre Fight
A man has been charged following a violent altercation in broad daylight in the town centre, where one individual was seen kicking and punching another as he lay on the ground.
Police say a large traffic cone was also used in the alleged assault, which took place around noon on Monday (10 March) in Halkett Street and Beresford Street.
Both men involved were arrested, but fortunately, neither sustained serious injuries. Authorities are now appealing for witnesses, particularly a man carrying a small child who was nearby and had to move away from the scene.
Police have described one of the suspects as wearing a dark gilet over a light-colored long-sleeve top, while the other was dressed predominantly in black.
