Scanner Glitch Triggers Delays and Missed Flights at Jersey Airport
Jersey Airport has issued an apology to passengers after lengthy security queues caused several travellers to miss their flights.
The disruption occurred early in the morning when one of the airport’s security scanners malfunctioned, resulting in extended waiting times for passengers catching early departures.
“Not the experience we want for anyone.”
Airport operations manager Eddie Afonso acknowledged that a “small number of people” were unable to board their flights, describing the situation as “not the experience we want for anyone.”
He added that additional staff were brought in to manage the queues, but admitted that the measures “weren’t enough for everyone.”
The airport confirmed that the faulty scanner has since been repaired, and all 17 affected passengers have now continued their journeys.
