A new direct air route linking Jersey with East Midlands Airport has officially launched as part of Loganair’s latest expansion plans in the Channel Islands.

The airline confirmed the service will begin operating from Sunday, marking the second of four new summer routes being introduced from its Jersey base.

The East Midlands connection follows the launch of flights to Norwich earlier this month, with additional services to Paris Charles de Gaulle and Bordeaux scheduled to begin later this summer.

Loganair described the expansion as a significant investment in regional connectivity, with chief commercial officer Ronnie Matheson saying the new routes demonstrate the airline’s commitment to growing services for islanders and visitors alike.

Fares on the new East Midlands route will start from £94.

Ports of Jersey’s head of connectivity, Paul Holley, welcomed the announcement, highlighting the importance of regular regional links for both residents and tourism.

He said improved flight options give islanders better access to the UK while also offering visitors more flexibility when travelling to Jersey.

East Midlands Airport commercial director Adam Andrews said Jersey remained a popular holiday destination and added that the new route would also provide Jersey residents with easier access to the wider Midlands region.
