Five kayakers have been brought to safety after running into difficulties in challenging waters near Noirmont Point, Jersey.

The alarm was raised when the group encountered trouble in heavy sea conditions, prompting the Jersey Lifeboat Association to respond. An inshore lifeboat was dispatched and quickly located two kayakers who had managed to reach the rocks near Noirmont Tower, while three others remained afloat offshore.

Rescue crews confirmed that those on the rocks were unharmed, while the remaining kayakers were escorted back to Belcroute, where they had originally set out.

In a statement, the Jersey Lifeboat Association described the incident as “fast-paced” and “multi-agency,” noting that swift action and coordination ensured a safe outcome.

They also praised the group for their preparedness, highlighting that the kayakers were equipped with vital safety gear, including helmets and lifejackets, which proved crucial in keeping them safe.
