Jersey University Grant Applications Drop to Lowest Level in Five Years

The number of Jersey students seeking financial support to begin university has declined to its lowest point in five years, new data reveals.
According to figures released under the Freedom of Information Law, 440 students were awarded grants for the 2024/25 academic year, amounting to a total of £4.4 million.
In the last five years, nearly £24 million has been allocated to first-year undergraduates. The peak occurred in the 2021/22 academic year, when 474 students received funding worth £5.06 million.
Details on funding for the current academic year have yet to be published.
