Jersey has been awarded a 90% compliance rating under UNESCO’s International Convention against Doping in Sport, placing the Island among the top performers worldwide for sports integrity.

The rating was announced at UNESCO’s COP10 conference in Paris, following a more rigorous 2025 assessment. It marks a major turnaround since 2021, when Jersey was deemed non-compliant.

Government departments, sporting bodies and community partners have since strengthened training, policies and regulations related to healthcare, funding, and international co-operation.

Of 214 countries and territories reviewed, 169 met compliance standards, but only 52 – including Jersey – scored at least 90%.

Ministers Kirsten Morel and Andy Jehan said the result highlights Jersey’s “gold standards” in fair play and anti-doping, crediting local organisations for their efforts to uphold sporting integrity.
