More than 30 Jersey police officers have taken part in early-morning raids targeting suspected serious offences, including drug dealing and domestic abuse.

The operation resulted in two arrests and the seizure of electronic devices. Officers also uncovered evidence linked to further suspected criminal activity during one of the searches.

Detective Inspector Paul Ryan, who leads the drugs squad, said the operation aimed to protect the public, support vulnerable victims and make the island safer.

He said drug dealing caused significant harm to the community, with criminals making substantial profits, and stressed the importance of targeting both dealers and their suppliers.

The search warrants were based on intelligence gathered by Jersey Police, which receives around 7,000 information reports each year.

Detective Inspector Callum O’Connor, who leads the Force Intelligence Bureau, said police staff and Customs officers work together to assess reports and develop intelligence that can support investigations.

Information is shared with relevant partners, including children’s services, health agencies and law enforcement organisations nationally and internationally.

O’Connor said intelligence gathering could take days, weeks or months, but urgent action would be taken when credible information indicated an immediate need to protect vulnerable people.
