Jersey Finance has unveiled the theme for its annual private wealth conference, with this year’s event set to focus on the growing importance of trust, substance and resilience as the global financial landscape continues to face uncertainty.
The conference, titled Trusted Shores, will be held in London on 22 September and will examine how international finance centres such as Jersey are supporting private wealth professionals in managing a more complex and rapidly changing environment.
A key highlight of the event will be the appearance of acclaimed documentary-maker, journalist and broadcaster Louis Theroux as the conference’s endnote speaker.
Known for his distinctive approach to storytelling and interviews, Theroux has spent decades exploring challenging social issues and meeting people from diverse backgrounds. His address will draw on his experience of communication and human connection, offering insights into the role of credibility and trust in an increasingly divided world.
The half-day conference is expected to attract more than 500 professionals from across the private wealth sector, including lawyers, investment managers, accountants, bankers, trustees and family office advisers.
Delegates will hear from leading figures in international wealth management as discussions explore key issues affecting cross-border planning, investment strategies and the future direction of global finance.
Alongside keynote presentations and panel discussions, the event will provide opportunities for attendees from Jersey, London and beyond to build connections through dedicated networking sessions throughout the afternoon.
Further details, including additional speakers and the full programme, will be announced by Jersey Finance in the coming months.
Jersey Finance Chief Executive Officer Joe Moynihan said the conference would highlight the island’s position as a trusted international finance centre.
“Trusted Shores reflects the importance of stability, strong regulation and international cooperation at a time when private wealth professionals and high-net-worth individuals are navigating a changing global environment,” he said.
“The conference will explore how the industry can continue to protect and grow wealth over the long term, while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and governance.”
Mr Moynihan added that the organisation was looking forward to welcoming Louis Theroux to the event, encouraging industry professionals to secure their places early.
The conference is supported by a number of sponsors, including Affinity Private Wealth, Butterfield Bank Jersey, Carey Olsen, Clarity, Crestbridge Fiduciary, Equiom, Fairway Group, Hawksford, HIGHVERN, Investec Bank (Channel Islands) Limited, Lloyds Bank, Praxis, Quilter Cheviot and Walkers.
Tickets are available for London-based professionals across the private wealth industry, as well as Jersey-based specialists looking to take part in discussions shaping the future of international finance.
