Jersey Airport Evacuated Due to Security Incident, Flights Disrupted

Around 300 passengers and staff were evacuated from Jersey Airport early this morning following a "security incident," police confirmed. The evacuation took place at approximately 06:30, and those affected were relocated to a nearby health club. The airport was closed for several hours, with flights disrupted until further notice.

Airport authorities said the situation was taken "very seriously" after receiving information that prompted an investigation. While the threat was later deemed "non-credible," security teams followed protocols to ensure safety. The airport reopened around 11:15, but ongoing flight disruptions are expected. Passengers are advised to contact airlines for updates.

One passenger, Rena Dunphy, described the scene as chaotic, with police covering the airport. Another traveler, George Bridger, noted the presence of armed police and emergency vehicles, highlighting the seriousness of the situation. Many passengers, including Victoria Ruellan, who was trying to catch a connecting flight, expressed frustration over the lack of communication during the incident.
