Jersey Air Display Targets Global Top 20 Status

Organisers of the Jersey International Air Display are calling on the community and local businesses to help propel the event into the global top 20 airshows.

Once at risk of cancellation, the annual event was saved last year thanks to public and corporate donations. Now, with the 2025 show on the horizon, organisers are aiming higher — both in the sky and on the world stage.

Notable aircraft already confirmed include the Red Arrows, RAF Typhoon, and the historic Dakota from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Event organiser Mike Higgins said a crowdfunding campaign will be launched soon to support the expanded programme.

Aeroplane Magazine recently listed the Jersey display among the “Top 20 Aerial Events Not to Miss in 2025” — the only free show to make the list.

“We’re planning a four-hour display with over 20 aircraft — including classic jets like the Saab Draken and Viggen — but we need funding and volunteers to make it happen,” said Higgins.

A static aircraft display is also planned at Jersey Airport on 10 September — the first in five years — with the main event taking place the following day, Thursday 11 September.
