Jayson Lee Memorial Run to Be Taken Over by Jersey Hospice

The annual Jayson Lee Memorial Run, established in memory of the much-loved footballer, is being officially handed over to Jersey Hospice by his family.

Jayson Lee tragically passed away in 2009 while playing for St John’s Football Club. In the years since, the 10K run has become a heartfelt tradition, honouring his memory and raising funds for Jersey Hospice.

Now, after many years of organising the event, Jayson's family has decided it is time to pass the torch to the charity itself.

The run, which captures Jayson's spirit and favourite places, will start at 9:00 am from FB Fields on Sunday 31 August. The scenic route winds past his former home, school, La Hocq slip—where he enjoyed bacon rolls with his sons—and concludes at his final resting place.

This inclusive 10K is designed to be more of a community run than a competitive race, welcoming participants of all abilities. Everyone who crosses the finish line will receive a medal, with trophies awarded to the overall winner and the top three men and women finishers.
