Jersey Shares Solidarity With Jamaica After Hurricane Melissa

Jersey has sent a message of solidarity to Jamaica following the devastation wrought by Hurricane Melissa.

The powerful storm struck the Caribbean nation on Tuesday, tearing through communities, destroying property and infrastructure, flooding homes and claiming five lives.

Bailiff of Jersey, Robert MacRae, expressed deep sympathy for those affected by the disaster.

“I am deeply saddened to hear of the extensive damage and loss,” he said. “Our thoughts are with all those who have been affected — those who have lost loved ones, their homes or their livelihoods, and those now working tirelessly to rebuild their communities.”
