Jersey Housing Firm Secures £100m Loan to Build 250 New Homes
Andium Homes, Jersey’s housing company, has secured a £100m loan to develop 250 new properties over the next four years. The homes will be available for social rent and affordable purchase, addressing the island’s housing shortage.
Housing Minister Sam Mézec praised the initiative, calling it “excellent news,” as previous government funding through a £250m bond established a decade ago is now nearly depleted. Mézec said the new private financing arrangement provides long-term stability for Andium, avoiding the need for project-by-project borrowing.
Andium’s CEO, Lindsay Wood, credited the funding deal to collaboration with financial experts and legal advisors. She emphasised the importance of the project in meeting the housing needs of islanders, saying, “This demonstrates our commitment to helping as many people as possible access affordable homes.
