A replica 17th-century Spanish galleon has arrived in Jersey, docking at Albert Pier as part of its international 2026 tour.

The Galeón Andalucía, described by organisers as “a symbol of Andalusia’s maritime heritage”, will remain in the island until 25 May after previously visiting Jersey during the Boat Show in 2024.

Visitors can step aboard the historic-style vessel daily from 10am to 8pm, with tickets available online.

Organisers said the ship’s tour aims to promote Andalusia as a travel destination while celebrating the region’s seafaring history and culture.

The full-scale replica represents the type of ship used by the Spanish Crown for trade and exploration between the 16th and 18th centuries. Original galleons of this kind typically measured between 130 and 200 feet in length and carried between 500 and 1,200 tonnes.

The vessel is berthed at Albert Pier for the duration of its stay.
