Loganair has withdrawn its applications to operate new air services from Guernsey after politicians on the island’s Transport Licensing Authority provisionally declined both bids.
The Scottish airline had applied to run routes between Guernsey and Jersey, and Guernsey and Southampton, following the collapse of Blue Islands. However, it said it had been informed that the Authority had reached a provisional decision to deny the licences and had chosen not to pursue an appeal.
Loganair said it was disappointed not to be able to serve Guernsey and would instead focus on delivering a reliable service from its base in Jersey. Passengers booked to travel between the islands from 15 January will have their flights cancelled and refunded.
Aurigny, which is owned by the States of Guernsey, has been granted approval to operate services between Guernsey and Jersey. Jersey is due to become a designated essential air route from 15 January.
