Guernsey Government Grants £150,000 to Support New Ferry Service
The States of Guernsey’s Committee for Economic Development has approved £150,000 in financial assistance for ferry company Islands Unlimited, which plans to launch a new passenger-only fast ferry service between Guernsey and Jersey.
The company is in the process of securing a suitable vessel, with the goal of introducing daily crossings by the summer. The proposed high-speed ferry would have a capacity of 200 seats, aiming to enhance inter-island connectivity and provide a convenient transport option for residents and visitors.
The funding reflects the government's commitment to improving transport links between the islands. Islands Unlimited has welcomed the financial support, viewing it as a significant step toward making the new ferry route a reality.
