A new digital platform designed to support parents from pregnancy through the first five years of a child's life has been made available free of charge in Jersey following a £100,000 government-backed grant.

Parent Sense offers evidence-based advice from qualified healthcare and childcare professionals, covering topics including pregnancy, infant health, child development, sleep, feeding and parental wellbeing. The platform also provides webinars and an AI-powered chatbot that delivers personalised guidance based on each family's circumstances.

Developed by Jersey-based technology company Sense-IT Limited, the app tailors its content according to a child's age and individual needs, including specialist advice for families with babies born prematurely.

Users begin by answering a series of questions, allowing the platform to create a personalised experience and provide relevant information as their child grows.

The funding was awarded through the Impact Jersey Innovation Programme, which is delivered by Digital Jersey. Parent Sense is the third project to receive backing through the scheme, following the ISLE HFpEF clinical trial, which focuses on improving the early detection of heart failure, and IslandView, a project creating high-resolution street-level imagery across Jersey.

The team behind Parent Sense was also selected earlier this year to take part in the 2026 Innovation Hub Fellowship at Georgetown University's Thrive Center, recognising its work to improve maternal and early childhood health through technology.

In addition to providing support for parents, the platform will gather anonymised data on the experiences and needs of local families. The information will help inform future planning and decision-making around healthcare, childcare and family support services in Jersey.
