Jersey Records Fourth Warmest Summer
Jersey has experienced its fourth warmest summer on record, according to Jersey Met.
After the hottest June ever recorded, July and August also remained unusually mild, with average temperatures across the summer reaching 19.2°C—well above the long-term seasonal norm of 17.7°C.
The summer was not only warmer but also drier and sunnier. August saw just half the typical rainfall, with more than 80% of it falling in the final five days of the month. 27 August was the wettest day of the season.
Sea temperatures were also exceptional, making this summer the second warmest for sea water in the past 65 years of records.
