Jersey Households Invited to Apply for 2025 Cost-of-Living Support Payments
Islanders in Jersey can now apply for two financial support schemes aimed at easing cost-of-living pressures in 2025: the Community Costs Bonus and the Cold Weather Bonus.
Community Costs Bonus
The Community Costs Bonus, worth £516.50 this year, is a one-off annual payment to help eligible households manage everyday expenses.
To qualify, a household must meet the following criteria:
At least one adult must have lived in Jersey for the past five years
The total household tax liability for 2024 must be less than £2,735
No member of the household should have had an open Income Support claim in the seven days prior to applying
Cold Weather Bonus
The Cold Weather Bonus offers additional help to pensioner households with heating costs during the colder months. To receive this payment, applicants must:
First be eligible for the Community Costs Bonus
Include an adult over 65 who has reached Jersey pensionable age and is receiving a Jersey old age pension or has at least 10 years of continuous residency
Either own the home or be the named leaseholder
Not have received a cold weather payment through Income Support for the relevant month
Automatic Payments and How to Apply
Islanders who were eligible for automatic payments and had already received their 2024 tax assessments should have received their bonuses by 24 July.
Those applying manually are advised to wait until they have received their 2024 tax liability before submitting a claim.
Applications can now be submitted online via the government’s official website.
