WH Smith to Leave Jersey Airport as Terminal Revamp Begins

Travellers passing through Jersey Airport will soon notice a change: the WH Smith store in the departures area is set to close next Monday, 22 September.

The closure is part of a wider redevelopment project aimed at upgrading the terminal. Ports of Jersey said the decision was also shaped by passenger feedback, which highlighted the need for a refreshed approach to shopping and dining at the airport.

While the store shuts its doors, airport bosses have pledged that passengers will still be able to buy daily newspapers, refreshments and travel essentials. Staff affected by the change are being supported through the transition.

“This closure is part of our wider investment programme to enhance facilities at Jersey Airport,” Ports of Jersey said in a statement. “We look forward to unveiling a new retail concept as part of the future terminal offering.”

The redevelopment also promises improvements to food, drink and duty-free services, as part of efforts to modernise the airport experience.
