Everton Coaches Return to Jersey for Summer Youth Football Camp

Coaches from Premier League side Everton are heading back to Jersey this summer to run a football camp for youngsters aged 6 to 14.

A total of 114 aspiring players have signed up for the week-long programme at St Peter FC Academy. Over the past 22 years, more than 3,000 children have taken part in Everton’s summer coaching sessions on the island.

Sean Robertson, an academy coach with the club, praised the island’s young talent.

“The raw ability here is always impressive, and the passion for the game is clear,” he said.“Their enthusiasm for learning is obvious from day one, and it only grows stronger as the week goes on.”

Many of the children joining the camp, which kicks off on Monday 11 August, are returning participants. Alongside the visiting Everton staff, St Peter FC’s senior coaches will also be on hand to help develop the youngsters’ football skills, teamwork, and communication—both on and off the pitch.

Each day begins with ball control exercises, followed by a range of technical and tactical training sessions. Small-sided matches give players the chance to put new skills into practice, leading up to an awards ceremony attended by parents at the end of the week.

Brian Foulser of St Peter FC highlighted the club’s approach:

“As with all Everton programmes, the focus is on learning in a way that’s full of fun, laughter, and enjoyment.”
