Islanders are being advised not to be alarmed if they see emergency vehicles and “actors in distress” at Jersey Airport on Thursday evening, as the island’s emergency services take part in a large-scale training drill.
The exercise, named Exercise Starling, will run between 4pm and 10pm and involve multiple agencies, including Jersey Police, the Fire and Rescue Service, Jersey General Hospital, and other members of the Jersey Resilience Forum.
Ports of Jersey said the scenario is designed to test how the island responds to a major incident, particularly one involving an aircraft. Despite the activity, flights and normal airport operations will continue as usual.
