Blue Islands Announces Festive Flights from Channel Islands to Belgium
Channel Island travellers will be able to fly directly to Belgium this December, as regional airline Blue Islands launches seasonal services to Bruges via Ostend Airport.
The new route, departing from both Jersey and Guernsey, offers flexible options including day returns and two- or three-night stays—perfectly timed for the festive season and Christmas market breaks.
Despite recent criticism over service disruptions and summer flight cancellations, Blue Islands says the move signals its commitment to improving connectivity and travel options for islanders.
"Bruges is a truly enchanting place at Christmas," said CEO Rob Veron. "These flights, which include airport transfers, make it easy for travellers to enjoy a European festive getaway without the hassle."
Veron added that greater flexibility has been built into this year’s offering, allowing travellers to tailor their trip with a choice of durations.
The airline's operations have come under government scrutiny in recent months, with warnings issued in May over ongoing performance issues.
