DFDS Launches 24-Hour Day Trip Fare from Jersey to France
Ferry operator DFDS has introduced a new 24-hour day trip ticket for passengers travelling from Jersey to St Malo, offering a more flexible option for short visits to France.
The new fare, starting from £29 for foot passengers, allows travellers to return within 24 hours of departure — ideal for quick getaways or day-long excursions.
Chris Parker, DFDS Route Director, said the new option is designed to give islanders more freedom when planning their travel.
“Our discounted short break fare remains the best value for those looking to stay two or three nights, but this new ticket gives even greater flexibility,” he explained. “With Christmas markets on the horizon and plenty of festive events in Brittany, it’s a great opportunity to enjoy something different this winter with friends, family or loved ones.”
Tickets are now on sale for travel between Friday and Sunday for the rest of 2025 and throughout 2026.
However, DFDS has advised that the 24-hour day trip fare is not available on all weekends. Customers whose chosen sailings do not meet the offer’s conditions will see the message: “Too long time between ferry departures according to product rules.”
The company hopes the new fare will boost winter travel between the Channel Islands and northern France, offering a convenient and affordable way to experience a taste of Brittany.
