Dates Announced for Revamped 2025 Jersey Battle of Flowers
Organisers have confirmed the dates for a reimagined Jersey Battle of Flowers, set to take place on 8 and 9 August 2025. The event will feature two free parades weaving through St Helier’s town centre, offering a fresh take on the island’s iconic celebration.
Jersey Battle of Flowers (Parades) Ltd announced that the 2025 edition will include more than 20 floats, alongside bands, dancers, and local performers. However, the floats will be smaller than in previous years, measuring 30ft (9.1m) instead of the traditional 45ft (13.7m).
The future of the beloved festival had been uncertain following a significant budget overspend of around £150,000 during the 2024 event. Despite these financial challenges, organisers remain optimistic about the event's long-term prospects.
While 2025’s Battle will look different, plans are already in motion to bring the event back to its historic location on Victoria Avenue in 2026, potentially allowing for the return of larger floats.
Originally launched in 1902, the Jersey Battle of Flowers has long been celebrated for its spectacular floral displays and vibrant performances. The 2025 festivities will kick off with a Day Parade on 8 August, followed by a Moonlight Parade on 9 August. Exact timings are still to be announced.
The organisers are working closely with the Battle 2026 Strategy Group to shape the future of the festival.
“We’re focused firmly on the road ahead – revitalising the event, ensuring its sustainability, and creating even more magical moments for Jersey and our visitors,” a spokesperson for the strategy group said.
